mode: "pixel" | "calendar"

'pixel': group by powers of two so a bucket is about two device pixels wide. 'calendar': group by calendar periods (see steps).

Calendar mode: the periods to pick from, finest that fits wins. Default 1m, 5m, 15m, 1h, 4h, 1d, 1w, 1M.
